Conditions for Conducting Business – Comparative of Poland and the Baltic States

Abstract:

Enterprises have to develop constantly to meet the growing expectations of customers and to achieve a competitive advantage. Not only simple information about production costs is significant, but also the management conditions at the place of operation. Such signals may be provided by various reports and particularly valuable seem to be those of international reach prepared by the European Union, the OECD or the World Bank. The aim of the study is to present the significance of information on managements conditions generated in Doing Business reports. The study will analyse conducting business in Poland and the Baltic states.  Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have many common features. One of them is the difficult path of transition from the socialist economy to the market economy which they overcame in the last thirty years. The study will allow for a comparison of the operating conditions in these countries. The method of literature analysis in terms of competitiveness of enterprises as well as report analysis and own observations will be used.
