Abstract:

Network congestion control remains a critical and a high priority issue. The explosion of Internet made the use of effective congestion control algorithms a necessity. In this paper, we present an adaptive delay based network congestion control algorithm that provides service for multiple classes of traffic as well as cooperation between the nodes to dynamically modify the running algorithm's parameters in response to network traffic conditions. All routers work in a distributed manner using signaling messages between them to assure cooperation in the entire network in detecting and fighting any incipient congestion.
