Abstract:
For decades, the growth of agricultural production has been based on plant cultivation under optimum growth conditions without optimising the consumption of raw material. Taking into account the new requirements regarding the increase of the productions in variable weather conditions without additional water and fertiliser consumption, a special emphasis is placed on the seed used for the establishment of crops, which increase the yield and have no negative influence on the environment and the health of people. Ensuring hybrid quality seeds to guarantee the harvest stability, the ability of a hybrid to produce a large, reliable harvest in different years (with very variable climatic conditions) and in different places shall remain an essential target for farmers in Europe and in Romania. The article carried out an assessment of the areas cultivated with corn hybridisation plots in Romania, the productions obtained in the last years and their distribution by regions, as well as the factors that generated this zoning. The data has been analysed, interpreted, and the results obtained can be useful to farmers and the business environment.
