The Evolution of Rich Internet Applications to Contextual Applications

Abstract:

The present article explores the integration possibilities of web, desktop and mobile applications, both on the technological perspective and on the functionality one. Our nowadays context enables the hypothesis that this integration could be reached through the adoption of new web application generations, known in the scientific literature as rich internet applications (RIA) that allow the creation of rich web clients.
For the academic environments, the relevance of scientific research on new web application generations emerge from their actuality, their own potential of being applied in practice and from their high probability to propagate in the economic domain.
