Abstract:
The article is targeted on the role of school meals in ensuring the nutritional needs of children and youth. It shows the main functions of school meals and describes the importance of consumption food basket and its performance in relation to the recommended variety of monthly diet dishes. Consumption basket analysis was conducted in relation to the variety of diets of adolescents in selected grammar schools in South Moravia. Evaluated the percentages of violations, compliance for individual commodities and implementation of consumer baskets in selected schools are solutions and recommendations.
