Contemporary Business Model – A Strategic Concept of the Company

Abstract:

In recent years, much space in literature has been devoted to business models. They are also gaining popularity among entrepreneurs or people who want to set up a business. The models are a kind of combination of management practice and theory. The article presents numerous definitions of the business model and research conducted on this concept. The most popular business model - Canvas - has been characterized. Based on literature analysis, empirical research and expert knowledge, the Canvas model was modified, supplemented with new elements extremely important from the point of view of the environment and the organization itself, so that it could better meet the expectations of the entrepreneur, but also the changing environment.
