Abstract:
A project success depends to a high degree on the abilities, knowledge and experience of a project manager, responsible for planning, execution, control and project closing. The literature on the subject, includes many project manager’s competencies models. Some of them indicate, that the most important ones are the technical competencies, others indicate, that personal competencies are the ones to be focused on mostly. In order to verify, which models are best prepared for the future project manager’s profession, an analysis of project manager’s competencies models has been carried out, including future challenges in project management issues. It may be assumed from the analysis, that the models described reveal now a necessity to develop human competencies and perspectives, in order to increase chances for obtaining an efficient solution, which will meet the requirements of customers and persons engaged in projects execution.
