Content Neglect = Shoddy Image? – Web Site Issues

Abstract:

More than a decade ago some corporate executives predicted that web sites will be capable of influencing companies’ image significantly. In today’s e-business environment this influence is becoming evident, forcing companies all over the world to pay attention to web site features more than ever before.  Anecdotal evidence suggests that the importance of customers’ impressions about companies’ web sites is uplifted at the pedestal unimaginable few years back. The research reported in this paper investigates the influence of particular features in the content of the web sites on company’s image. Some of these features are: providing useful information on a web site, content of the web site,  level of interaction, using valuable graphics, etc. This research also looks at the change of the perceptions about company’s image after visiting and evaluating their web sites by potential customers.
