Contingency Analysis of Knowledge Sharing: A Case of High Institution

Abstract:

Organizational behavior is a manifestation of knowledge sharing, which has an effect on the overall competitiveness of an organization. Knowledge shape individual behaviors, which sometimes conflicts with the norms, structures and systems of the organization. Knowledge gap is being identified amongst employees within organizations that enable some employees to perform their job effectively. Knowledgeable employees are expected to share their knowledge with others to increase productivity within the organization. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Generally, employees may behave differently within an organization due to their diverse background or according to their skills and stock of knowledge. A case study was conducted to investigate the impact of knowledge sharing on organizational performance. This includes what triggers employees to behave the way they do and how the organization respond to the behaviors. Contingency theory was employed in the analysis.
