Contribution of Blockchain to Supply Chain Risk Management

Abstract:

Today, the supply chain has become increasingly dispersed. It must be admitted that, in such an organization, the traceability of physical flows and the visibility of information flows have become the difficult stakes of the supply chain. These complications are the main source of the risks that hinder the smooth running of the organizations. Faced with this complexity, researchers and professionals are always looking for feasible solutions and more effective methods to provide end-customers with service delivery consistent with what has been promised, according to our research, we have deduced that the control of the circulation and the security of the information require a suitable communication device and a more efficient information system. Blockchain technology is an outstanding solution in this regard. This new technology could ensure, through new advanced encryption techniques and a jointly administered Peer-to-Peer computer network model, the storage and exchange of information throughout the logistics chain in a more structured and secure manner, in order to reduce the risk of error and determine who is responsible.
