Abstract:

Corresponding general objective, another two main aspects of sustainable development in coal mining concern: 1. resources exploitation and supervision of environmental impact; 2. restructuring technologies and keeping under control the risks. Coal is, at the same time, a key component for the performance of certain industrial processes such as steel and cement production, both of which are essential for creating the infrastructure of developing economies. Regardless of the economic benefits, environmental impact that it has exploration and use of coal should not be ignored. Mining is generally regarded as an unfriendly activity in ecologically and socially, causing multiple impacts on the all components of environment including society. Impacts are not limited to just the mining exploitations but may have regional expansion, and in some cases nationally. Nature impact depends on the specific technology used and includes concerns about: land use and water resources, emissions, waste generation, health and public safety.
