Corporate Citizenship: The Mediating Role of Ethical and Discretionary Citizenship on the Relationship between Economic and Legal Citizenship

Abstract:

This study examines the influence of economic citizenship on legal citizenship utilizing ethical and discretionary citizenship as a mediator, based on the four-factor model of Corporate Citizenship (CC) proposed by Maignan, Ferrell & Hult, (1999). The survey of 319 college students in the area of International Business confirms the effects of the included hypotheses. The findings show that economic citizenship has a direct and indirect positive effect on legal citizenship through the mediation of both ethical and discretionary citizenship.  Structural model and regression-based approach by SPSS and PROCESS was used to analyze the mediation effect
