Corporate Social Responsibility as an Important Element of Modern Company

Abstract:

The importance of Corporate Social Responsibility is constantly growing. Corporations and large enterprises have already permanently included this concept in their operation and strategies, The increase in the importance of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept was influenced by both the changes taking place in the global economy and the increase in public awareness. At present, involvement in pro-social and pro-environmental initiatives is not only appropriate, but even required. Increased competition and changing at market standards force enterprises to undertake new initiatives. What is important, this actions are in the interest of the enterprise itself as well as the local community or the surrounding environment. The aim of the article is to point out some important issues related to CSR, inter alia: theoretical analysis, indication of the advantages of this concept and the inherent concept of stakeholders. In the article is also shown “Ranking of Responsible Companies”, which is carried out in order to present the most responsible companies. The aim of the article is also, to show, what in CSR area is important to the Lotos Group, which recently is ranking highly. As a result, this article shows he importance of CSR in big companies and also the benefits it brings. It indicates the catalog of companies involved in pro-social and pro-ecological activities. Analysis of only companies will allow in the future to research on other sectors. This is a very important issue, to implement CSR for small and medium-sized enterprises.
