CSR Expenditure Pattern of Indian Corporates-A Case Study of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd-Kochi Refinery

Abstract:

Adherence to legislation of section 135 by India has witnessed a huge increment in the course of the last five years. Organizations on a growing rate comply with a major part of the regulations as determined in the Companies Act,2013 concerning Corporate Social Responsibility. India’s pattern on CSR consumption obviously demonstrates their enthusiasm to contribute towards nation building. This study intents to examine the pattern of current CSR expenditure by a giant Indian corporate and on the basis of this pattern anticipate its future spending through regression analysis. The paper culminates on the note that inclusion of compulsion in the CSR Act has achieved a significant increment in the CSR spending by Indian Companies, which shows Indian corporate's readiness to add to stakeholder prosperity.
