Cultural Approach of Risk Communication Process inside an Organisation

Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the innovation from the cultural point of view through studying the effects of national and organisational cultures on the risk communication process inside an organisation. In spite of the number of valuable risk communication approaches that have been developed during past years, they tend to offer narrow technically oriented solutions, and they have not paid enough attention to the cultural aspects of risks and the informal structures of organizations. This study is based on the assumption that innovation can be efficiently investigated and understood through a systematic and comprehensive study of various social organizational aspects. This study presents a cultural approach to the risk communication process inside an organisation. Using the previous research findings, this study examines the interrelationship between national and organisational cultures, human issues, business issues, and technical issues and their possible impacts on the risk communication process. This research contributes to the understanding of the cultural aspects such as national and organisational cultures in the context of risk communication process management. It demonstrates the values of the cultural aspects and emphasises the importance of interrelationship among these aspects, which enrich the in depth understanding for practical projects and empirical research contexts.Â
