Cylindrical Antenna Array and its Direction Finding Precision in Location System of Information Sources

Abstract:

This paper deals with the precision of the direction finding (DF) signal sources method basis on circular antenna array. An analysis of signal amplitudes and phases determined from the outputs in each of the antennas of the circular antenna array intended for work in the monoimpulse DF systems is presented. It allows evaluating the effect of the crossing level of the radiation characteristics of the respective antennas and the radius in their position on the precision of the DF. Theoretic analysis and studies prove that the error occurring in the process of the DF execution may be minimized by suitable selection of the crossing level in the radiation characteristics of the antenna. The article provides the conclusions in theoretical analyses of the antenna arrays.
