Abstract:
There are many potential benefits that can be achieved by implementing the modern solutions in acquiring, planning and final settlement of transport contracts. However, without the appropriate transport execution systems (TES), all these benefits will be difficult to gain. More to say, the systems security becomes a crucial issue, especially in the field of data integrity. Transport management systems (TMS) are solutions that allow customers to connect with many carriers, and then agree, track and pay for the execution of transport orders in an automatic manner. The article identifies the key approaches of implementing information from GPS and GIS-T systems in TES and TMS. Adequate data integration is necessary for the control, track and make decision regarding to transport orders. In addition, the need to integrate data from tracking systems with information in planning systems was also indicated, which in many cases is a key problem to ensure the transport visibility. The article also emphasizes the strong requirement for data integrity in TMS. Such integrity can be achieved by blockchain technology that adds a new value to computer systems and networks.
