Abstract:
In the last decades, scientists o_ered a special attention to the theory of social choice, which can be applied to various research _elds such as social sciences, political sciences, economic sciences, or computer science. The use of social choice methods combined with computer science techniques led to a new research area called computational social choice. One important research topic in social choice theory is the study of voting methods. In this paper we make an analysis of several voting methods based on a computer science approach. For this purpose we use a similarity measure and a data mining technique - Principal component analysis. Our approach is both theoretical and experimental and tries to underline some meaningful properties of the voting methods.
