Data Sharing and Data Retention on the Example of MS Teams in a Large Polish Production Company – Case Study

Abstract:

The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the functioning of businesses, private enterprises and individual households. It reorganized the traditional models of work performance and forced the necessity to introduce changes in the management of entire organizations, teams and individual units. The occurrence of an extraordinary pandemic situation forced the organizations to look for new ways of organizing work and cooperation, guaranteeing the maintenance of safety standards and allowing to maintain the continuity of the organization's operation, with the least possible detriment to its financial result. [1] Changes in the organization of work and activities affected almost all entities, including those whose activities were based on the project work model. Virtual (dispersed) teams, which were rarely found in different locations, have become a common organizational practice overnight. Due to the new epidemic conditions, remote work became a challenge for entire teams, and the distance forced the necessity to adapt the working methods used to new organizational and economic conditions. [3] The necessity to quickly adapt to the new ICT situation and to guarantee IT tools for its employees forced the organization to use even more cloud computing resources [2]. It was also appreciated by many service providers who, at the beginning of the pandemic, often offered their solutions for free [4,5].
