Abstract:

Data Warehouse (DW) projects meet cases of failures during their achievements. It can be because of the bad design, the lack of communication between the designers and the users. To overcome such problem and ensure a good design of the schema of DW, we propose in this work a new method based on bottom-up approach. It starts by generating the conceptual schemas from users’ requirements. Then, it extracts the multidimensional schemas from the database. Using the two types of schemas, it builds the logical schemas of the DM. Finally, it generates the DW schema by merging the logical ones.
