Abstract:
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems have evolved over time and in some cases, they provide even more functionalities than users actually require. Some authors describe it as a “too-closeness” problem. Offer of information, which is not necessary, increases information load of a user and may lead to distraction, confusion, etc., i.e. decreased productivity. The aim of the papers is to provide suggestions of models specific for persona-tailored ERP systems, which should lead to decreased information load. Suggestions range from a relatively simple approach of showing and hiding inspired by showing and hiding of menu items in MS Office 2003, through using other users’ behavior to optimize the front-end, to generating new (task-oriented) personas with interface minimizing their information load.
