Abstract:
The paper is addressing the issue of defective products, their returns, and their management. It is concentrated on the sample of micro, small, and medium-sized Polish production companies, as in these entities the defective products have the biggest percentage share as well as the responsibility for them. The research findings proved that the intensity and quality of the defective products management processes depend on the size of the manufacturing enterprise. They can be of considerable application significance when referred to the enterprises’ practices, and the recommendations for managerial staff can be formulated on their base. However, it is necessary to adopt an individual approach here because of differentiated parameters of the enterprises. The presented research is the only study on the defective products management in manufacturing sector of Polish industry up to date.
