Designing and Establishing a Performance Appraisal System: Determining Appraisal Indicators

Abstract:

Employees who are unaware of the organization's expectations about themselves cannot be expected to take effective action to correct their deficiencies or improve themselves. Performance appraisal is a process by which employees are informed the official view of the organization about how to perform duties and its outcomes. The two basic tasks in performance appraisal are the establishment of a system for conducting an appraisal, and the other is to prepare supervisors to play an effective role within the framework of the system and related executive processes. The present paper specifically addresses these issues and how it is implemented in the framework of establishment of a macro management system and the employees’ performance appraisal in Golgohar Mining & Industrial Company. Firstly, the most important criteria of appraisal are developed through a committee composed of a research team and experts of the company, and then these criteria are finalized and prioritized by conducting necessary tests.
