Abstract:

Transport plays an important role in the process of socio-economic development and occupies a special place in the economy and social life. Nowadays, the volume and structure of transport demand are determined in the technological and innovative sphere, production technologies in other sectors of the economy, legal and economic foundations, location decisions and in the model of society's life. The progressive integration of European transport markets as well as the globalization and computerization of economic processes are somehow a lever for the development of transportation companies in the field of ICT. It involves digital mobility solutions, promoting multimodality, creating infrastructure for alternative fuels, and interoperability and standardization for electromobility. As regards transportation company management, systems based on communication and satellite positioning (GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou) play an important role. This means further cooperation of intelligent transport systems in expanding the mobility of cooperating, connected and automated vehicles, and the introduction of 5G technology in communication technologies.
