Determinants of Travel Intention to Yogyakarta: Tertiary Students’ Perspective

Abstract:

This study aims to analyze the impact of perceived behaviour control, motivation, attitude, subjective norms, destination image and sensation seeking on tertiary students’ travel intention to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The study used survey method with correlational approach. a total of 181 university students were selected as sample. A questionnaire with 5-point Likert scale was used to collect data. The study revealed that the perceived behavioral control, motivation, attitude, subjective norm and destination image had a positive and significant influence on the travel intention. Whereas, sensation seeking had a positive influence but not significant to the travel intention to Yogyakarta. The authors offered suggestions for further research.
