Abstract:
This study analyzes determinants of alliance capability of firms from emerging economies with alliance capability of developed economies. The aim is to compare and contrast the antecedents, and dynamics of the alliance of firms from these economies. We examine to what extent emerging economies firms differ in alliance capability and what these firms can learn from the developed economy firms’ alliance capability development patterns. By comparing the literature on these two extremes we propose important themes of alliance capability which suggests the factors determine the choice of alliance capability development for firms from the emerging markets. Finally the study concludes with managerial suggestions and future research directions.
