Abstract:

In this article we attempt to analyze the current stage of development of the Russian electoral system. Modern socio-economic and political processes, both internal and external, compel the system of public administration to search for the ways to optimize its performance. The project model approach within the framework of the “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation” program is offered as a methodological foundation of this optimization. It appears feasible to apply rapidly spreading information technologies to the advancement of the electoral system by implementing the relevant digital projects. The article will discuss both positive and negative aspects of implementation of the specific projects designed to digitalize certain elements of the electoral process and propose possible solutions to the discovered problems.
