Abstract:

In the article the modern state is studied, trends of development and peculiarities of activity of farms in Ukraine are determined. It is revealed that today in Ukraine there are more than 34 thousand farms, accounting for more than 70% of the total number of economically active agricultural enterprises. The conducted studies indicate a tendency for the consolidation of farms, in the period of 2010-2017. The share of agricultural production of farms in total production increased by 2%, but is negligible. Farmers provide employment opportunities for rural residents and play a role in the development of social infrastructure of rural areas. The problems of development of farms of Ukraine are determined and the ways of their solution are proposed on the basis of research of international practice of formation of effective state agricultural policy.
