Abstract:

The article gives an assessment of agricultural development in the Chuvash Republic, which is of great importance,  since the agricultural sector is one of the sectors that ensures food security of the region and the  state as a whole. The aim of the study is to determine the ways of agricultural development in the region. The main objectives of the study are: assessment of the development of the main branches of agricultural production; analysis of types of agricultural products produced; analysis of economic entities engaged in the production of agricultural products. The presented indicators of agricultural development show the current trends in the development of the industry, which has a positive dynamics both in terms of types of business activities and in terms of types of agricultural products produced within the framework of the agricultural support program. Based on the conclusions of the study,  it is proposed to support those activities that are in greatest demand on the market of agricultural products and to develop the social infrastructure of  rural areas.
