Abstract:
Electronic commerce is a process that fundamentally changed people's lives. Because of its benefits, it has spread rapidly eliminating many of the limitations of traditional business. Globally, e-commerce has become a necessary component of corporate strategies used to obtain competitive advantage. Using information technology in business, determined the enhance of productivity, attracted more customers and made possible reducing costs. In our days the world is constantly evolving and developing. Also time seems to compress. In this condition, people needs a faster way for purchase. Thus, in the globalization era, e-commerce is developing and changing very fast. If in the 90th only 1% of European and American companies adopted the system of electronic document transfer, the total profit derived from e-Commerce in the United States of America was 5371 billion $ in 2012 and in European Union e-commerce accounted in 2013, 14% from total sales turnover. E-commerce gain more and more field so, we will analyze in this paper the development of e-Commerce in Romania compared to its global evolution.
