Abstract:

Azerbaijan has been cooperating with the Asian Development Bank since 1999. During the period of cooperation, the bank invested projects both in Azerbaijan and with its participation abroad. However, promising cooperation requires a deep study of the areas of interaction. The purpose of the article is to identify the objects of interests and areas of improvement of the legal framework for interaction between the Asian Development Bank and Azerbaijan on investment  contributions The objective of the study is to identify existing problems in the investment sphere, to identify deficiencies in the existing Laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On investment activities” and “On the protection of foreign investments”. The author, identifying deficiencies in the legislation, proposes to eliminate inaccuracies regarding the regulation of the concept of “foreign investment” and in the forms of participation of foreign investors, to clarify the issues of liquidation or determination of the results of violation by state bodies of the rights of foreign investors.
