Development of University Innovation Ecosystem: Analysis of Internarional Practices, Interaction of Universities, Research Institutions, Industry, Development Institutions and Government

Abstract:

In a constantly changing political and economic environment, the emergence of new challenges related to climate change, overcoming the pandemic effects, volatility of the energy and food markets hinder innovation development. In this regard the development of local competencies is becoming critical for development of effective innovation ecosystem at universities. Improvement of country's competitiveness can be achieved based on industrial modernization of industry through R&D commercialization, as well as ensuring accelerated development of breakthrough technologies, focused on the problems of the society. The complex problem in the development of the national scientific, technological and innovation ecosystem of CIS countries remains the lack of a clear focus on the priorities of scientific, technological and innovation development, which remain vague. Another problem for effective innovation ecosystem development is poor links between the supported STI priorities on the state level and the real needs of business and society as well as lack of a coherent mechanism to support projects from the idea to the stage of implementation and scaling.
