Development Strategies of Industrial Sectors of the Economy in Certain Areas of the Republic of Bashkortostan

Abstract:

The state of development of branches of the industrial sector of the Republic of Bashkortostan (RB) in different zones and subzones of the region was analyzed. The strategies implemented for the sectors of the industrial sector of the economy in the subareas of the RB were identified with the help of the business portfolio analysis model of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG): growth strategy, growth strategy, maintenance strategy, retrenchment strategy. The study made it possible to establish that two different strategies are applied mainly in the sub-zones depending on the type of industry, the geographical location of commodity producers and the geological features of the location of mineral deposits. So, the regions of the middle of the central zone are characterized by growth and maintenance strategies. However, in 12 districts of the periphery, retrenchment and growth strategies for the industrial sectors of the economy are being implemented, as the business environment is limited by many key factors and conditions. The production and distribution of electricity, gas and water, manufacturing industries, as well as mining, strategies for the future were recommended on the basis of the identified strategies for agriculture. Namely, defensive strategy, "build-up" strategy, "retention" strategy, "harvest" strategy. Depending on the proposed strategy, the main directions in the developed solutions for the sectors of the production sector of the economy for individual sub-zones of the RB were determined.
