Abstract:
Tourism is one of those sectors, which are increasingly important in the economic development of regions and countries. Tourism development plays a special role in the socio-economic transformation of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), which have become more and more popular among foreign tourists over the last 25 years, e.g. thanks to offering better accommodation and new tourist services. It is assumed that the level of development of tourist infrastructure is one of the main factors of tourist attractiveness of regions and thereby contributes to the regional development. The aim of this study was therefore to the see the regional differences in the level of development of tourism infrastructure in the EU countries of Central and Eastern Europe compared to other EU states, Switzerland and Norway.
