Developments, Interdependencies and Transformations – In global Banking Systems over Multiple Periods of Crisis –

Abstract:

The research aims to highlight global developments and transformations in banking systems over several crisis periods. The first two parts present the post-financial crisis and pandemic crisis contexts along with the many interdependencies between the variables used in the research. The third part presents the empirical analysis based on the Panel Var methodology, used to highlight the relationships between the variables involved (interest rate on loans, level of bank assets in GDP, capital adequacy ratio, inflation and unemployment). The sample analyzed comprises a selection of 30 countries, representing a major percentage of global GDP. Part 4 contains the results of the research together with the authors' interpretations of these results. The paper ends with the authors' conclusions section.
