Abstract:
As a holistic approach, a commitment to digital literacy can enable schools to support students in making the most of the opportunities associated with digital technology, develop young people’s critical thinking and creativity, and engage in their lives in a way that has the potential to make their learning more relevant. Nevertheless, lack of digital competence on the part of teaching staff is also considered a real issue in preparing students for successful careers, notwithstanding the fact that digital literacy continues to rise in importance in a key skill in every discipline and profession. Thus, this paper reviews the literature on digital literacy’ concept, definition and dimensions to provide an integrative understanding of the existing literature.
