Abstract:
The digital transformation is taking industries by storm. Various research shows, healthcare digitization is lagging behind other business sectors and is having difficulties keeping up with the fast development. The reasons for this trend in Switzerland has yet to be explored. Affiliated with this issue is the inadequate knowledge of how to implement the digitization in an organization. Hence, the goal of this paper is to identify drivers (1) and barriers (2) of the digital transformation in Switzerland’s healthcare. Additionally, existing implementation methods (3) for introducing the digital transformation in an organization are discussed. To achieve these objectives, two different systematic literature reviews were conducted using multiple databases relating to information technology and health science. The first one resulted in six summarized drivers (1) and nine summarized barriers (2). In the second literature review, four different implementation approaches were uncovered. In conclusion, we will provide an outlook for further research.
