Abstract:

Industry is the basis for sustainable economic and social development. Many countries are developing programs aimed at the industrial production growth. In each country the direction of intensification of the industry are different. They depend on the purpose and the level of socio-economic development. The article discusses different directions of industrial production intensification in different countries. Particular attention is paid to the role of labour productivity in the conditions of the increase in industrial production. The analysis, which allows identifying the dependence of the country’s competitiveness and the achieved labour productivity level, is given.
