Do Organizations Benefit from e-Workers?

Abstract:

The digitally connected world of today has defined a whole new set of relations between people which has not left the business environment untouched. The newly-discussed topic of e-workers is one of the outcomes with unknown positive potentials and, certainly, weaknesses worthy of deeper studies. There are certain issues being discussed by researchers in this field which have not yet proved mere positive or mere negative and so the issue is still practically dim. Organizational interrelations, influence of digital relations on worker’s trust and commitment, vocational psychology, diversity of the workers and its effects on team working and organizational culture, legal definitions, official issues and internal costs are among the main subjects to be reviewed. However, recent studies reveal that with all the potentials identified for the topic of e-workers, face-to-face relations are still more preferred. This is an open study in the primary steps for developing a meta-analysis for the relevant literature.
