Does Organization-Based Self-Esteem Mediate The Relationship Between Servant Leadership And Job Social Support To Family Life: Indonesian Civil Servant Case

Abstract:

Condition in family life effect on an employee’s working performance. But, condition in working place also effect on one’s family life. This study aims to determine the level of servant leadership and job social support to family environment and whether organization-based self-esteem mediating those relationships. We defined family environment here defined as family satisfaction and family quality of life. Most of the existing research topics discuss how working environment effect on employee performance, but this study discusses how working conditions affect to employee’s family life. This research covers Indonesians civil servants explicitly at the headquarters of the national civil servant personal agency (Badan Kepegawaian Negara, BKN). We collected data from 100 respondents who are married and worked for more than one year. Data processed using the regression method with help of SPSS software. The results indicate that organization-based self-esteem fully mediates the relationship between job support on both family satisfaction and family quality of life but only partially mediates the relationship between serving leadership on family satisfaction and family quality of life
