Dominant Logic In The Context Of Shaping Dynamic Capabilities: Evidence From A Polish Regional Airport Case Study

Abstract:

The Dynamic Capabilities View considers the specific category of capabilities which enable companies to change their resource base aimed at adapting to business environment changes and achieving a long-term competitive advantage. In turn, dominant logic is perceived as the manner in which managers conceptualize business reality; thus it is connected with the issue of how organizations develop and choose their own path of development. The aim of this article is to discuss dominant logic as a micro-foundation of dynamic capabilities. The results presented are a part of a wider project on the dynamic capabilities of Polish enterprises. This study finds that regional airports differ in relation to their dominant logic and thereby attitudes to shaping dynamic capabilities. The research findings contribute to the scientific discussion on dynamic capabilities micro-foundations and the dominant logic concept. The results also give an overview on airport management issues.
