Abstract:
The authors study the tendency of development of the manufacturing industry in Russian regions. To analyze the levels of the industrial development, we used 18 indicators characterizing production volumes, the number of enterprises, the number of employees, the value of fixed assets, the volume of investments, and the net financial result in three sectors: in extractive industries; in manufacturing industry; in production and distribution of electricity, gas and water. The cluster analysis showed that the industry is most developed in 13 regions (Tyumen, Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Leningrad regions, Krasnodar Krai, Rostov region, Republic of Bashkortostan, Republic of Tatarstan, Perm region, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Chelyabinsk regions, Krasnoyarsk region). Most regions of the country belong to four groups of outsiders. In each cluster, we analyzed the regions with the most specific features. The dynamics of changes in the parameters of the manufacturing industry are shown by means of the linear function for the period 2010-2016. All the regions (both leaders and outsiders) are characterized by a sustained growth in manufacturing within the analyzed period. All the other parameters of the development of the manufacturing industry are unstable. The value of fixed assets, investment volumes and financial results are the most unstable. The dynamics of the development of the manufacturing industry related to the economic situation within different periods have no specific features.
