Abstract:

The aim of the research is to identify the economic achievements of Romanian agriculture in relation to the level of entrepreneurship, with a view to raising the living standard in rural areas. The methodology used included an analysis of the number of entrepreneurs, the average number of employees and the turnover of the agribusinesses in each of the development regions in Romania. These variables were obtained from the National Trade Register Office and processed by the authors. One of the conclusions of the research is that the highest values of the analysed indicators are to be found in the Sud-Muntenia region. Consequently, this research can be used as a starting point for developing the main sector of activity, namely agriculture, in each of the regions in Romania, depending on their specific contribution to this field of activity.
