Abstract:
The beef sector faces challenges like sustainability demands, competition from meat substitutes, and changing consumer preferences. Therefore, efficiency, sustainability, and adapting to conscious consumers are vital for beef farms' long-term success. This study evaluated the viability and economic condition of beef farms across four production systems using data from the agri benchmark Beef and Sheep Network (2014–2023). The highest economic condition index was found in intensive Grain-fed farms from Argentina, Australia, Spain, China, Tunisia, and Morocco. However, the highest economic viability was in extensive Pasture system farms from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Australia, Ireland, and England. These farms show the greatest adaptability and long-term development potential
