Abstract:
The world is changing due to many factors, from technological progress to active life duration increase, from rushing after resources to huge gaps between rich and poor, from climate changes to population aging, from old conflicts to new immigrants crisis all of them and many others alike make possible "new" jobs to appear that no one would think at few years ago and "old" traditional jobs like mining to disappear. The present research objective is to bring to light the perceptions and reactions related to financial crisis of the employees of one of the few still working mines in Jiu Valley. The research area was structured using as work instrument used an interview protocol with 17 opinion and factual questions. The results illustrate the degree to which mining industry workers were affected by the financial, economical-social and moral crisis of 2007 overlapping with the over 20 years long crisis of the Romanian mining sector enhancing all its aspects. Following the research we've been able to identify who are they that consider themselves affected by the crisis, what solutions they'd used to overcome it and what they plan to use in the future, which is the institutional responsible expected to take measures to surpass crisis effects. The research hypothesis: that those who are affected by crisis are the ones worried they'd lose their current jobs was confirmed. it is more likely they'd lose their jobs due to synergetic effect and lack of involvement
