Abstract:
This paper looks at the connection between the Games and globalization. Olympics are a major sports event that by their nature becomes globally publicized. In the dynamics of economic framework today we can speak of globalizing process in the case of Olympic competition. The present paper aims at reflecting the importance and the implications of major sports events on economic social and political frameworks of cities and countries that hosted Summer Olympic Games for the last 20 years. There are many aspects of a country that may change as a result of hosting the Olympic Games. Studies on the impact of previous Olympic Games have indicated that inward investment has been attracted by preparations for the Olympics which have increased the host cities global profile. We have chosen to analyze Olympics from the perspective of potential influence factors that combine for Games success or failure and that are not directly correlated with the main purpose of this competition. Finally we concluded that Olympics do not exempt from the principle where there’s smell of profit this is where investors are and investors are from all over the world.
