Abstract:
Changes in the labour market come as a result of technological progress. Education systems need to adapt to current requirements. The qualifications required in the labour market require more and more skills. The article presents an analysis of the employment rate of young people. The professional insertion capacity of young graduates is influenced by the skills, knowledge and competences they acquire. A comparative analysis of the data regarding the participation rate in education and training is performed. Thus, it is found that increasing the capacity for professional integration can be achieved by acquiring new knowledge, skills and competences, by participating in lifelong learning. Because some of the young people fall into the category of neither in employment nor in education and training, their evolution is analyzed in the article
