Abstract:
This study is a part of the author’s research on developing a change project for the “Baltic University Programme (BUP) Teachers Course on Education for Sustainable Development” organized from September 2018 to March 2019. The aim of the study is to discuss the idea of a change project for higher educational institutions and to promote education for sustainable development with social media. The world is facing increasingly drastic and complex problems, which require innovative and sustainable solutions. Communication and networking among stakeholders around the world would facilitate the development, implementation and scalability of such innovative and sustainable solutions. Increasing popularity and global coverage of social media makes it a vital role-player in the process of communication and networking for education in sustainable development and students’ career prospects. The article describes the inception of the change project idea based on the gap found in the literature and the results are from a pilot study of implementation of this change project among students from engineering and management & business administration.
