Abstract:
The information and communication technology (ICT) penetrates all human activities ranging from economic, business, banking, administration, education and communication since last two decades. In the field of education, the university utilizes the ICT in all administrative areas including teaching and learning and delivery of educational resources by development of university or institutional learning management system (ILMS). On top of the ILMS, the personalized learning management system (PLMS) have also developed by individual educator or lecturer in delivering personalized teaching resources as complimentary for ILMS taking advantage of the ICT capabilities. However, the number of PLMS is considerably fewer. This indicates that, despite the advantage of having PLMS for teaching and learning of individual course, the literature reveals vice versa. This study is conducted to examine the educators’ awareness and perceptions towards the PLMS. The study setting is University Teknologi MARA, Malaysia using a survey method involving educators/lecturers as respondents. The findings suggest that the Perceived PLMS is positively associated with Awareness, Perceived Usability, Perceived Advantages, Perceived Development and Perceived Technological Requirements. A sole variable namely Perceived Advantages is identified to be a significant predictor of Perceived PLMS.
