Effect of Work-Life Balance and Job Stress on Job Satisfaction during the Covid-19 Pandemic at the Karawang Hospital

Abstract:

This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and work stress on the job satisfaction of nurses at a private hospital in Karawang. The research method used is a causal/explanatory survey with primary data collected through participatory observation, interviews, and questionnaires distributed in several hospitals in Karawang using the purposive sampling technique and questionnaires by chance. For 200 respondents, data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of Lisrel software version 8.80. The results showed that the work-life balance significantly positively affected job satisfaction. Second, job stress has a significant negative effect on job satisfaction. This research is limited to examining nurses' work-life balance, work stress, and job satisfaction. Further research is also expected to add/use other variables because the research at this location only looks at the two most significant causal variables, namely work-life balance and work stress, that affect job satisfaction. However, it did not rule out other factors outside the study, such as job satisfaction, organizational commitment, motivation, and other factors that can affect the job satisfaction of nurses.
